“Melancholy”

Nayeem Siddiquee is known to everyone as ‘Nayeem Jabaz’. He was born on 21st June 1995 in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Nayeem currently works as a junior photographer at WEDLANE – a wedding photography company based in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Nayeem started shooting street photography two years ago and has continued this as a serious hobby ever since, applying his own perception to his photos, to create his own street photography style.
Now, Nayeem is part of the new wave of Bangladesh street photographers. He is the editor of Street Photography Bangladesh magazine, which contributes vital publicity to the street photography of Bangladesh. Nayeem is also the founder of the Instagram account, @animalinstreet, which brings about the concept of connecting photographers around the world, through their individual photos of the same animal. Nayeem’s photos have been selected in international photography festivals, photography blogs including Break The Circle and in competitions such as the International Inter-University Photography competition, Dhaka University Photography Competition, Out of The Box 7, plus many more. His work has also been featured in Eye Shot magazine, and the 17th issue of Underdog magazine.
Victor Hugo once said “Melancholy is the happiness of being sad.” I love to shoot in dark, I love to shoot red. Because my eyes can see the inner pain in the crowd…
